Well… here we are.
After two decades of scribbling thoughts in notebooks, archiving cloud folders with the precision of a Swiss Army knife, and talking to that weird (yet surprisingly helpful) voice in my head, I’ve finally done it, I’ve launched my blog!
So welcome. Whether you stumbled here on a Monday evening trying to avoid doom-scrolling or found yourself neck-deep in a personal development rabbit hole on a rainy Saturday, I’m glad you’re here.
Now let me tell you why this blog exists, what you can expect, and why WiseFox might just become your new go-to for levelling up life.
Why a Blog? Why Now? Why Me?
Let’s start with the “why,” because that’s where everything meaningful begins.
Since my teenage years, I’ve had this compulsive habit (blessing? curse?) of writing things down. Ideas, reflections, tips I picked up from books, podcasts, or that one random 2 a.m. documentary about Japanese monks, if it sparked something, I saved it.
And over time, those notes became more than just ramblings. They turned into a structured system that genuinely helped me improve my life. I don’t say that lightly. These weren’t just “nice ideas”; they became tools, ways to steer through work chaos, personal challenges, and, let’s be honest, the mental gymnastics of adulting.
So now I want to export all of that, digitally of course, to a space where others might benefit from the lessons I learned (sometimes the hard way), without needing to read 97 books or rewatch YouTube videos at 1.75x speed.
What This Blog Really Is (And Isn’t)
Let’s clear something up: this blog is not a personal diary. You won’t find emotional play-by-plays of my morning routine or 3,000 words about how I finally nailed the perfect oat milk latte.
What you will find here are ideas and principles that have been tried, tested, and actually make a difference.
This blog is for people like me, people who’ve realised that life doesn’t come with a handbook, but maybe, just maybe, we can crowdsource one.
It’s not about throwing motivational quotes at you like confetti or pretending that “hustle culture” is the answer to everything. It’s about building sustainable routines, understanding our brains a bit better, reframing the way we think, and finding clarity in the chaos of modern life.
Meet WiseFox: Not Just a Cool Name
Let’s talk about why the blog is called WiseFox.
First off, yes, my hair has started turning that distinguished salt-and-pepper vibe, and I like to think that’s where the “wise” part kicks in. Life has thrown me its fair share of curveballs, and while I haven’t mastered the game, I’ve gotten pretty good at catching them.
The “fox”? Well, fun story. One of my stepsons has Fox as his middle name, and honestly, what animal better symbolises cleverness, curiosity, and just a bit of mischief than a fox? Combine that with a lifetime of learning and voilà: WiseFox.
It’s a nod to the idea that wisdom doesn’t have to be boring, and cleverness doesn’t have to be superficial. You can be sharp and soulful.
So, Who Am I Anyway?
Hi, I’m Fabien.
Born and raised in France to a Spanish dad and a French mum, I was the youngest of three and, let’s say, not the academic star of the family. My early years were filled with underpaid jobs, educational dead ends, and moments where the GPS of life simply said: “Recalculating…”
But something clicked. I made a decision to take control. Through a mix of stubbornness, some good crazy friends, and a fierce belief that I could do better, I went back to school while working, became an engineer, picked up a second master’s degrees, moved to the UK for couple of years, and eventually landed in Sydney.
Now I’m an experienced project manager in a consulting firm, a stepdad to three amazing boys, and deeply obsessed with simplifying life while levelling it up.
This blog is not about me per se, but rather the process I’ve used to shape a fulfilling, balanced, and purpose-driven life. Think of me as your slightly nerdy, organised mate who’s here to help make adulting a little easier, and maybe even fun.
The Heart of WiseFox: What You’ll Get Here
You can expect articles that offer:
- Practical tips on daily routines that actually may work for you.
- Mindset shifts that help reframe challenges into opportunities.
- Insights from books, podcasts, and real-life experiences, not just summarised, but synthesised and put into context.
- Minimalist strategies for life and work, cutting through the clutter.
- Goal-setting frameworks for people who are tired of goals that last one week and then fade into the snack drawer of life.
And it’s not about being perfect. It’s about being intentional. It’s about making small, consistent changes that lead to a better future version of yourself, the hero you want to be 10 years from now.
Think of this blog as your digital gym for the mind and soul. Less sweat, more “aha” moments.
From Cloud Folders to Inner Clarity
My journey started with one simple act: organising my life.
It wasn’t glamorous. It wasn’t TikTok-aesthetic. It was just… clear. I sorted notes, documents, calendar events, reminders, until suddenly, my head had space to think.
I decluttered not just my wardrobe but my mental wardrobe. I reduced noise, started investing wisely, and became a student of systems, from GTD (Getting Things Done) to Stoicism to good old common sense.
The result? More focus, more freedom, and more energy to spend on what actually matters.
This is what I want to share with you: how to manage life before life starts managing you.
The 10-Year Self: Why It All Matters
There’s a concept I love: becoming your future self’s hero.
That’s what this blog is ultimately about. We all know the version of ourselves we want to be: the confident, calm, kind, capable adult who somehow has time to work, rest, socialise, exercise, and drink enough water.
That person doesn’t magically appear. They’re built, day by day, system by system, habit by habit.
This blog is here to guide that process. To give you not just motivation but tools. Not just inspiration but a map.
Final Thoughts: Let’s Do This Together
This isn’t a guru blog. It’s a fellow-traveller blog.
You’re not going to find me preaching from a mountain. I’ll be right there in the mud with you, figuring out how to balance work, relationships, side hustles, and sanity.
So stick around. Join the journey. Share your wins, your failures, your “why did I open 17 tabs and forget all of them” moments.
Because life’s complicated. But with a little structure, a little intention, and maybe a sprinkle of fox-like cleverness, we can make it not just manageable, but meaningful.
Welcome to WiseFox.
Let’s get started.
